The Qmatcha project started with a branding exercise and continues onto the product packaging, photography and finally, its ecommerce website solution which is not only functional, but looks sensational, too.
As a small family-owned business, Qmatcha would like their web presence to reach the very nieche market of tea drinkers within Europe. Because its lack of popularity in the West, they would also use the website to knowledge share and to bring awareness of the benefits of matcha green tea holistically.
As a solution, we designed and built their responsive website, with mobile first experience approach, and launch it in 2016.
In line with the brand tone of voice of simplicity and minimalism, we have used parallax to display large areas of impactful photography of the tea farms Qmatcha is harvested from. We’ve also paired this with the use of simple product photography on white backgrounds which allows negative space to flow nicely across the site. We have also created a series of ‘did you know’ campaign pages as well as a detailed FAQs to bring awareness of matcha tea’s nutritional values and origin to meet their objective.
A strong brand name, story and identity which reflect the company’s principles and ethos, coupled with secure e-commerce system that enables Qmatcha to own the space and digitally serve a wide audience reach beyond Europe.
